Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day
“FULL SERVICE COMMUNITY SCHOOL”
M. A. Lynch is a full service community school. As a full service community school, we provide extended day learning opportunities for students as well as workshops and classes for parents in our Parent University. Echo DeMasters is Lynch’s Community School Coordinator. She manages Lynch’s ‘before’ and ‘after’ school programs. Early morning programs (K-3 Intervention and homework club) serve students who may be unable to attend after school, ‘Cub Club’. Cub Club includes all after-school activities (i.e., academic intervention, Homework Club, SMART and enrichment programs).
Our onsite Lynch Community Health Clinic operates though a partnership between Mosaic Medical and Deschutes County Health Services. The provide health care for students and their families.
We also have an onsite Head Start program, operated by Neighbor Impact.
“TITLE I SCHOOL”
Lynch is a Title I School. Title I is a Federal Program that provides additional literacy support for K-3rd grades students who are reading below grade level. Research indicates that students who do not read by the end of first grade and are not reading on grade level by the end of third grade are at a high risk for school failure. At Lynch, we have strong classroom reading instruction, highly effective Title I programming and extended day Cub Club interventions to support students with the critical skill of reading. Contact Leslie Westendorf for more information on Title I at Lynch.
